Per square inch of material swimsuits are expensive compared to the cost of other leisure clothes and if you are an avid swimmer or spend time in chlorinated water for water aerobics it can be even more expensive changing them out when they become embarrassingly thin. The best buy I've found is the chlorine resistant swimsuits, in particular the Krinkle ones (others that have claimed to be chlorine resistant have not held up very well).
Note: The cross back I found difficult to get on and off, the scoop back was preferable. These swimsuits are a tight fit.
