I can't remember a time when I didn't budget. I was born in London less than a decade after WWII ended and at a time when the economy was still reeling from the war. I was fortunate that my father could repair almost anything and my mother made meals costing mere pennies and was handy with sewing and knitting needles. We unraveled sweaters to make new ones, cut zippers from old clothes to use again and made clothes from any extra pieces of material. Scarlett wasn't the only one making dresses from curtains!
I always remember an aunt saying "A Penny Saved is a Penny Earned" and I have remembered that throughout my life and tried to be frugal with both money and resources.
Now I'm living in Texas, doing what I love - writing and blogging and of course my day isn't complete unless I get a visit from one of my children and especially my precious grandchildren.
