In the 1990s Amy Dacyczyn (pronounced decision) came up with a great business idea to share her frugal living ideas by mailing out newsletters. The idea spread and at one time she had 100,000 subscribers and has sold over 400,000 copies of her book. In addition she has appeared on David Letterman, Donahue and Dateline. Many of her tips are still viable whereas some may not be. Cars no longer have ashtrays so using them to store air freshener products won't work. Tips for using less stamps and cutting costs on landline phones which are dwindling are less useful these days. (One tip was to get together with neighbors and mail utility bills in one envelope each month). However, with nearly 1,000 pages in The Complete Tightwade Gazette, there are many tips that can still be used.
