Cleaning an Electric Kettle

Rival KettleIf you use an electric kettle, you know that calcium and minerals build up and then flake off. An inexpensive way to clean the kettle is to use white vinegar. Put a combination of half water and half white vinegar in the kettle and boil You only need enough to cover the coils and any areas that need cleaning. Leave it for 30 minutes or so and then rinse out. You may need to boil fresh water and rinse a few times to get out the vinegar taste, but you will find the coils shiny and bright afterwards.

I bought an inexpensive one at Walmart and it's worked well for several years.
