Walmart Not Taking Returns

At the moment fitting rooms are closed at Walmart and so you are unable to try on clothes which normally wouldn't be a problem because you can return items that don't fit, right?

WRONG!

They don't make it clear in the store that clothing cannot be returned although they have a notice stating that paper goods and other items cannot be returned. Even online it shows that returning items is "easy"

But after clicking on several options I came across the statements below. All very confusing.

Returns are available for nearly everything Walmart sells. We recommend keeping track of all manufacturer packaging and your receipt for a minimum of 90 days after purchase.

Temporary Return Policy Change
Effective: April 20, 2020
We are temporarily not processing returns/exchanges in our stores of: food, paper goods, home cleaning supplies, laundry soap, pharmacy, health & beauty and apparel.
If you need to return any item, including those above, and have a receipt, please start your return on the Walmart app or at Walmart.com. It’s easy and may allow you to complete your return without coming to the store.
If you’re not able to return the item online, don’t worry! Once returns reopen for impacted categories, we will be extending the return period by 6 weeks for those items.
By the way, starting a return on Walmart.com doesn't work because you need a 13 digit order number which isn't on the receipt.
So it's probably best not to purchase clothing at Walmart because if it doesn't fit you will be out that money for who knows how long and may not be refunded at all.
