
During the heat of the summer here in Texas, keeping potted plants hydrated is difficult and
water beads are expensive. As an alternative, use disposable diapers. They also contain water beads that absorb water and will keep your plants moist longer. Take a new disposable diaper and remove the padding. Tear up in small pieces and combine with potting soil or layer it in the bottom of the pot. Disposable diapers are about 20 cents each.
