Economy Rain Barrels

Rain barrels can be expensive and I've seen some for nearly 100 dollars. Instead, use a heavy duty trash can with a lid. Cut a rectangular hole in the lid for the downspout. When you need water, dip in a watering can or insert a spigot in the side. Make sure the lid is sealed to protect from young children and mosquitoes.
