Moisturizers on a Budget

While coconut oil isn't cheap to buy, it lasts for ages. It's around $12 at Walgreens for a 16oz jar, but check here for other retailers.
In the winter, it's in a dense form and in the summer heat, it becomes liquid (I learned this the hard way when not opening it very carefully). It has lots of beneficial properties (see health benefits here) one of which is to moisten skin.

Scrape a little (about the size of a dime) and moisten it with your fingers before applying. It is greasy so pull your hair well out of the way when applying to your face. (I use it as a night cream). It's absorbed pretty quickly.

Another buy I've found this week is at  the Dollar Tree. With the cold winter air comes cracked heals so I slather on Creamy Petroleum Jelly, vitamin E enriched, at night. A 4.5 oz tube is $1. It's found in the baby section.
