With a bowl, jar or tray to collect coins tossed from pockets, it soon adds up, but if you rarely visit your bank (or have an online bank) changing it to dollar bills can be a trip you put off. In most supermarkets there are coin changing machines - CoinStar is one of them. But beware of fees because some charge over 10%. Look for alternatives to cash such as gift cards where you won't be charged a fee (Amazon is usually one of the choices).
Otherwise, save the change for when you have a yard sale or keep a coin purse in your car to use when you're out shopping for small items.
Note: Some kiosks also have the option to trade in gift cards. They make you an offer for the gift card which you can choose to accept or deny.
