I like lists. I feel that I've accomplished something when I cross it off a list and have an overview of what has to be done. For some people, that would drive them crazy.
When my children were babies and I felt nothing was getting done, I wrote down a list of cleaning chores. It might be something as simple as vacuuming the hall on Tuesdays, but I found it helped me to put the chaos in order.
If you have older children you can put together a chart for them too. If they are too small to read, add pictures: Brush teeth, make bed, put clothes in the hamper.
There are some detailed charts on Money Crashers or get some ideas from Google images.
