Clothing

My new favorite part of my closet is the top shelf. What used to be ...Plan to review your closet once a year. Put like items together i.e. skirts, t-shirts, blouses, dresses, pants.
One suggestion I have seen is to turn all the coat hangers around and turn them back when you wear something. You can then see what you have worn in the past year.
Re-evaluate what you have. If there is a favorite skirt that you don't have a top for, or a dress that you don't have shoes to match, take a picture and when you're shopping (or at a yard sale or thrift shop) take a look at what you need.
Any items you no longer wear, either sell them in a yard sale, on E-Bay or Thred-Up if it is a name brand item. Anything else take to a charity shop or Goodwill. If you itemize on your taxes, make sure you get a receipt.
