I took the plunge and bought a Kindle. I didn't get a fancy one, just one for reading which is currently $68 (It was $58 yesterday). It's a Kindle with 6" display. If you sign up for an Amazon Visa credit card, you currently receive a free $50 gift card which I used to purchase the Kindle with. The credit card was offered when I was at the Checkout for another item and signed up a week ago. Definitely worth looking into.As an added saving, don't pay extra for a wall outlet charger (it comes with a USB charger you can use with your computer). If you have a charger for your phone that a USB cable attaches to and it's 5v, you can use that. (Don't use an i-Pad charger though).
